This Thai Chili Gin and Tonic recipe is a tantalizing blend of flavors that will awaken your taste buds. With a combination of gin, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and Thai chili syrup, it offers a delightful balance of citrusy, sweet, and spicy elements. Topped with tonic water and garnished with fragrant Thai basil leaves, this cocktail is both refreshing and visually appealing. It pairs perfectly with a delicious Spicy Coconut Tomato Bisque!

Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup*
  • 1/4 oz Thai chili syrup (or to taste)**
  • Tonic water
  • Thai basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, combine the gin, lime juice, simple syrup, and Thai chili syrup.
  2. Fill the shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.
  3. Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with ice.
  4. Top the glass with tonic water and stir gently.
  5. Garnish with Thai basil leaves and enjoy!

*(Make a simple syrup by combining 1 oz. honey and 1 oz. water in a saucepan and simmer until dissolved. Save the rest for your next cocktails!)

**To make the Thai chili syrup, combine equal parts water and honey (or coconut sugar for a darker looking syrup) in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add 1+ sliced Thai chilies to taste and simmer for 5-10 minutes, then strain and cool before using.
