My Favorite Brand, and 3 Ways to Use Them!
Our featured kitchen tool of the week is the ramekin – a very useful vessel for cooking and serving custards, crumbles, cheeseboard accoutrements, and more. I use my ramekin set all the time for making single servings of meals or desserts that might normally be served in a casserole dish!
My favorite ramekin right now is the Le Creuset Stoneware Mini Round Cocotte. It comes in so many beautiful colors and is available on Amazon!
When I was growing up, my siblings and I loved mac and cheese. To make the meal feel extra special, my mom would bake and serve the mac in little individual ramekins for us. This is a fun tip for making family dinner feel a little more exciting than usual! You can find my healthier, gluten-free mac and cheese recipe on my blog, and divide the mac and the cracker topping evenly between the ramekins.
In my opinion, there is nothing more luxurious to serve at brunch than an ooey-gooey runny yolk. While many baked eggs, or oeufs cocotte recipes are full of heavy dairy, cheese, and butter – this recipe is light and flavored with veggies, fresh herbs and healthier feta cheese. Serve with bread for soaking up all of the delicious yolks!
French onion soup is one of my very favorite comfort meals to make. Caramelized onions, fresh bread to soak up the broth, and melty Gruyére are a combination made in heaven. We made this last year in Tiny Kitchen and the recipe is to die for! If you don’t have enough time to join our live classes, we have a recipe and video access only membership option which gives you access to all of our past recipes!
When speaking of ramekins, we of course cannot forget the ultimate French dessert: Crème Brulée. And we’ll be making a vegan version very soon in Tiny Kitchen! Make sure to save your spot for class on September 14th at 3pm PST.
