We are starting a cooking club for anyone to join! Let us know what you might like to learn in our classes by taking our survey!
The plan was to make tacos and tortillas from scratch – and make the most delicious tacos we did! On Tuesday, April 19, Chef Andrew and I held the very first Anja Lee & Company demo cooking class. It was a special free class for some special people. The purpose of the event was to share the magic of a virtual cooking class with more people, engage in some good conversation, and meet other foodies.
Taco Tuesday attendees had access to one of my favorite classes. You know why? Because there’s nothing better than a homemade tortilla. The class began with the preparation of the masa harina tortillas. Masa is a maize dough that comes from ground corn and is the base of the most amazing Mexican-style corn tortillas. Pro tip: my favorite method for rolling out the tortillas is to reuse a wine bottle. Two for one: a few glasses of wine AND a rolling pin!
Then we focused on a few knife skills before chopping the vegetables. Do you know how to properly hold a knife? Sign up for one of our cooking classes and you’ll be a pro in no time.
One guest who attended the demo class noted that “The chefs made it fun! Enjoyed the cooking tips.” Another person shared that they loved learning new skills from Chef Andrew and me. This too could be you! We are thrilled to announce that this will be a monthly affair! Give us your feedback on what we should make next.
We’ll see you soon!
